New Mini-Comic Second Banana!

Hey charming folks!

My new (cat endorsed!) mini-comic Second Banana is now available online, you can pick up a copy here!

It's 12 pages (not including a spooky bonus section) rehashing more of my family's personal business. In particular this little comic is about having a very bright, influential and nerdy older brother whose fascination with H.P. Lovecraft, demons and ghosts had unintended consequences for our relationship.

Also, I'm trying out a new system of using Etsy as my online store, if anyone finds this extra step annoying let me know, feedback is welcome!

In other news San Francisco Zine Fest last weekend was lovely and exciting. Cookies, wigs, comics, and lots and lots and lots of talking. I tabled both days (first time in a while! wohoo!) so I was extra excited Sunday to just sit in that hot, chaotic little nest and bask in the creative joy/angst/hysteria. Thanks you guys who came by for a hello! It was truly a delight.

I haven't dug into my pile of new comics and zines yet, but Saturday night I read Jason Martin's new book Driftwood City in one sitting and really loved it. Much recommended!

More soon!

your pal,

Come visit SF Zinefest!

Hey friends!

I'm going to be tabling at SF Zinefest this coming weekend, and I will be selling my (almost almost finished) new mini-comic Second Banana! There's a fair chance I'll only be there on Saturday, but hopefully I'll be admiring the punk haircuts of crafty girls in granny glasses from behind our little table both days! If you can make it and want to say hi, just turn right as you enter the main hall, I'll be at Table 66 with the fabulous Kane Lynch gorging on vegan donuts. The hours are 11-5 both Sat and Sun.

Admittedly, mini-comic printing has been rocky not just because my printer is a temperamental beast but I've been trying to up my game in terms of scanning and printing. The downside of being haphazardly self taught is you only learn things you happen to run across and even then only if you decide to care, and I haven't cared a whole lot about the details of this process until recently. Now by obsessively reading Dustin Harbin's amaaaazing blog and the Comic Tools blog I'm hoping to do some catch up, but it's a (surprisingly/embarrassingly?) long road. In fact I've assembled a terrifying master list of new tools to get and try out. Scary. Fun. Anyways, enough rambling. Hope to see you at zinefest, lovely people!

New comic for SF Zinefest!

Hi everyone!

Just a hello to you, my friends on the internetz. As I've posted about before I've been working on a comic book for about two years, but, horribly, after lots of headdesk-ing and making embarrassing noises these past couple months, I do not think it's ok to share with the world and might lock it in a drawer for now/forever. In the meantime I'm finishing a short mini-comic called Second Banana to debut ye olde SF zinefest, which I will be tabling at! Here are the first two pages:

You'll be able to grab a copy online as soon as I've got 'em in my hot little hands. In the meantime I'll be updating this sparkly new website with little comics and news!

Your friend,
